The Importance of the Walkthrough
The walkthrough is an integral part of any entertainers preparation for a successful and creative event. Even if a DJ has performed at that venue multiple times, the set up could be different and the vision of the client usually varies from next to next and the DJ must be aware of all issues, weather they are positive or negative. The walkthrough allows us to insure perfection and an absolutely incredible event. Knowing the set up as well as small but critical items, such as where are the outlets located, allows us to set and be able to perform at a level that is not only acceptable to the client, but acceptable to the performers capabilities.
DJOC is all about performance. We want to be make sure that we provide the client with the vision of success that they hired us for and the vision that they desire. Looking at multiple aspects that could derail an event prior to the event is the mark of a professional. Our only goal is to eliminate all possible factors that could prevent us from giving the client the event of their dreams. Here is an example. If we know prior to the date of wedding that the event planner is putting older clients near the position of the DJ, we can work with the floor plan and make the necessary changes to insure that they are not bombarded with music at a volume level that is discomforting and thus insuring that they are enjoying the evening while giving the customer the music level that is entertaining and respectful.
DJ’s must approach each venue and event with the client in mind so that they eliminate any items of possible issues that put any and all clients in a position in which they sound levels and a reconizable discomfort. The walkthrough eliminates this as DJOC is able to know and make the necessary adjustments that is beneficial to all those involved. If there is positioning of the DJ booth that needs to be adjusted we are now in a position to correct the matter.
